So, I promise honeymoon, wedding and house updates are coming soon. But I had to sign in real quick to tell the blog world about the rookie mistake I made yesterday...I've been cooking a lot lately, but I definitely wouldn't say I am a seasoned cook... like one who would know that it is NOT okay to put potato skins in the garbage disposal. After peeling some potatoes in preparation for our crock pot meal for Monday night, I just shoved all of the skins in the garbage disposal and turned it on. An awful noise ensued and the sink got completely stopped up. James came in to assess the situation and told me that the potato skins turn to "paste" in the pipes, stopping them up.
Awesome. Lucky for me, I have a super handy husband who likes to take things apart and fix them. We had a good laugh and luckily James saved the day by clearing the clogged drain. Definitely saved us from having to call someone out to fix the disposal. You live, you learn... potato skins will end up in the trashcan from now on.
Yum.
I never knew that about potato skins...You've just saved another Ostenson household from a clogged drain!
